Youth Unemployment: You can determine Your Category

It is true that youth unemployment is one of the challenges the youths all over the world are facing today. But I want to make it clear at this point; it is in your hands to choose the category you want to find yourself. If you want to be among the people being affected, it depends on you. If you in the other way want to be in the category being employed, all is your decision to make. So my friend, the choice is yours.


Being employed as used here does not really implies that you must work for someone. It means you keep yourself busy with something that will add money into your pocket. You can be self-employed or work under any establishment.



In the United States of America, the statistics of youth unemployment was put at 10.1 percent in November 2016. It includes youths between the age of 16,and 24. The sourced of the information is Statistica.


The past documentations on this issue shows that the country was affected much when compared with the recent update in November 2016. Youth unemployment ranged from a high of 16.8 percent in August 2012 and January 2013, to a low of 15.5 percent in September 2012 in United States(Statistica 2016). The challenge rose from 16.1 percent in April 2013 to 16.3 percent in June 2013.

In Canada, the same demanding task affects the youths as well. Youth Unemployment rate in Canada averaged 14.13 percent from 1976 until 2016. In September and October, 2016, the unemployment rate of the youths in the country was put at 13.20 and 13 percent respectively. 

Based on the recent statistics, youth unemployment in the United Kingdom is still not far from that of United States and Canada. As of August 2016, youth unemployment in the country was put at 13 percent according to Trending Economics. On average, the unemployment rate in the country is put at 15.29 percent starting from 1983 to August 2016.    

Out of the statistics of youth unemployment affecting many countries of the world, it is left for any youth to make a difference in his/her own case. Start arranging and preparing yourself on time for the task ahead and you will make a difference in your life. Personal development is also important. There are youths who are millionaires today and you can be among them.

What you can do as a youth is also important. Is it academic certificate you have or do you have any other thing that adds value and money to your existence? Do not depend on only salary if you are a salary earner? Think of other diversified job (s) that can help you live better and allow you work at your own spare time.

Also, your mindset is important. Think right and act right. Empower yourself with the little you have. Tell yourself that you can make it and surely you will see the sky in due time as your starting point. Be patient and work hard in any engagement you find yourself. 

Keep on pushing on and believe strongly that you will win. Do not be so selective when you are offered some jobs. Pick the job first and start growing. Be doing something because it is much better than doing nothing.
